Tecbor® Y - Firewall Strips EI-60
Spanish Royal Decree 2267/2004 on Fire Safety Regulations for Industrial Establishments (RSCIEI) came into force on 3rd January 2005. These regulations aim to achieve an adequate level of safety in case of fire in industrial establishments.
When a party wall between industrial buildings or warehouses meets the roof, a 1 m strip must be installed along its horizontal projection as a minimum, with a fire resistance of at least half that required of the party wall, in order to prevent the spread of the fire to the adjoining building or warehouse.
Tecbor® Y firewall strips consist of a load-bearing structure made up of supporting brackets. These are attached to the supporting structure (party wall).
Types of Stripes
- Attached to party wall.
- Integrated into the roof itself, where the roof has the same or better fire stability as the required resistance of the strip.
- Extension of the party wall or dividing element, 1 m above the roof.

These omega profiles are to be positioned at a distance of 440 mm apart.
Tecbor® Joint Paste is applied to the joint between panels and seals the junction between the strip and the supporting structure.
