It has the great advantage of letting more light in, between the pillars, but it also presents several disadvantages:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A less effective <strong>thermal insulation<\/strong> than beam and block slabs.<\/li>\n<li>A less effective <strong>acoustic insulation<\/strong> due to a smaller thickness.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes, a <strong>fire resistance<\/strong> that does not comply with the required standards.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our R&amp;D department developed two kinds of <strong>mortars<\/strong> to help us correct these three disadvantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/en\/tecwool-mortar\/tecwool-t\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Tecwool T<\/strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup> <\/span><\/a>Mortar, offering an excellent <strong>thermoacoustic insulation<\/strong>. We can apply up to a 6cm thick layer and it has the <strong>EUROCLASS A1<\/strong> label (NON-COMBUSTIBLE material, no contribution to fire).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-32284 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Thermal-Tecwool-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"Thermal Tecwool\" width=\"432\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Thermal-Tecwool-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Thermal-Tecwool-768x458.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Thermal-Tecwool.jpg 785w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/en\/tecwool-mortar\/tecwool-f\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool F<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/a> mortar, with very similar properties in terms of thermoacoustic insulation but that also acts like a protective layer by raising the <strong>fire resistance<\/strong> of a concrete structure up to <strong>REI-240 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-33023 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Tecwool-F-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"Tecwool F\" width=\"440\" height=\"264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Tecwool-F-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Tecwool-F-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Tecwool-F.jpg 835w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let us go a little bit further in the analysis of what our <strong>Tecwool F<\/strong> and <strong>Tecwool T<\/strong> mortars have to offer:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>THERMAL INSULATION:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the main purpose of the mortar application is the thermal insulation, we will use the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool T<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong> mortar. Less material will be needed, and the thermal insulation will be more effective than the Tecwool F which design is more oriented towards fire protection.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool T<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong> mortar presents a <strong>thermal conductivity<\/strong> of 0.0456 W\/m\u00b7k<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For a waffle slab of a total thickness of 3cm, the <strong>Thermal Transmittance U<\/strong> decreases according to the layer thickness of the Tecwool T applied to the structure:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-32272 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-Insulation-Tecwool-T.jpg\" alt=\"Table Insulation Tecwool T\" width=\"1020\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-Insulation-Tecwool-T.jpg 1020w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-Insulation-Tecwool-T-300x59.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-Insulation-Tecwool-T-768x151.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>SOUND ABSORPTION:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/en\/tecwool-mortar\/tecwool-t\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool T<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/a> mortar efficiency comes from its polymorphic structure and from the porosity of its main constituent: <strong>rock wool<\/strong>.\u00a0 This efficiency is reinforced by its application via a pneumatic projection (allowing a continuous insulation without acoustic bridges and no disbondment risks), making it the ideal material for insulation against aerial noise of any surface. The following graph shows the example of <a href=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/en\/tecwool-mortar\/tecwool-f\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool F<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-32278 \" src=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-equivalent-Thickness.jpg\" alt=\"Table equivalent Thickness\" width=\"621\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-equivalent-Thickness.jpg 811w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-equivalent-Thickness-300x242.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mcrtecresa.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Table-equivalent-Thickness-768x618.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 621px) 100vw, 621px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For instance, if we want to reinforce a concrete structure to obtain a <strong>REI 120<\/strong> (fire resistance during 120 minutes) of <strong>120 mm<\/strong>, but this structure is only <strong>60 mm<\/strong>, we will need to apply the equivalent of <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tecwool F<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><\/strong> mortar.
